We deliver drones and related equipment on a scheduled basis so that the battalion does not have urgent needs.
This gives confidence to our defenders and, accordingly, peace to us.
We order drones from large manufacturers, as well as custom ones.
What matters most is the end result: drones that perform well. Hence, every drone undergoes a prior assessment by the military.
All purchases are pre-discussed with the battalion commander and approved by the brigade commander.
We spend money on what is genuinely essential and performs well in the field.
In 2014, AltexSoft employees had a firsthand experience of the realities of war. During that time, we assisted our employees in evacuating from Sievierodonetsk and simultaneously initiated our support for the military. Since then, Vitaliy Barkatov has been and continues to be the driving force and organizer of assistance at AltexSoft.
During the most intensive phase, the company, employees, and their friends assisted the Armed Forces by providing cars, walkie-talkies, drones, thermal imagers, and more. After 2015, the requirements decreased a bit, but they surged back with greater strength on February 24, 2022.
Vitaly's brother, Oleg Barkatov, has come a long way in the Armed Forces. In 2014, he was a tank unit commander.
From the moment of the formation of the 43rd Mechanized Brigade, Oleg was appointed its commander, and it was with him that we started collecting funds for the brigade and the "Nebesna Mara" UAV battalion.
Now the position of brigade commander is taken by Lieutenant Colonel Serhiy Ryzhov, and our assistance to the brigade continues.
As AltexSoft's charity team members were finally able to shift their attention from emergency response to the military's requirements during a full-scale invasion, the year had already progressed to 2023. At the same time, we considered changing from occasional assistance to a continuous supply.
With the approval of AltexSoft CEO Oleksandr Medovoі, we began laying the groundwork for the project.
Drones were and continue to be the most essential equipment, prompting us to focus on them. After completing all preparations and meetings with the military, we announced the first fundraising campaign on April 6, 2023. During that time, the project did not yet have a name, and discussions about this continued for over a month.
We settled on the name «(Not) From the Sky». This title means the great price of war. Every small or big victory at the frontlines, every new day in independent Ukraine, every saved life, every new weapon, every, even the smallest, donation - all this is achieved by the hard work of the Ukrainian people and their allies. In this way, we emphasize that the war continues and our military still requires support in the ongoing struggle for our future.
The second part of the name carries a literal meaning, as it is «From the sky» that these «gifts» will be sent to the occupiers.
We consider it a special honor to participate in the formation of the battalion's brand.
Our branding team has come up with the name «Nebesna Mara» for the UAV battalion we provide.
This project holds a place in our history that we're delighted to nurture and share with you. We hope that it resonates with you and will become a part of your life.
